Matt & I were so fortunate to do a newborn session with baby Isabella who was born on April 19. We were able to come over and take the pictures when she was just 6 days old! I’d been doing a lot of reading on how to photograph a newborn, and everything recommends taking them before the baby turns 10 days old.
So I realized, for interesting newborn pictures props really are necessary. In preparation, I gathered a few supplies and also put my mom to work.
Knitted baby hats (thanks mom)
Assorted baby blankets
32″ Zip Disc Reflector
Isabella was actually wide awake for a good portion of our photos. She wanted to stretch out and keep an eye on me! Eventually, toward the end of our shoot she dozed off and we were able to put her in my new prop, the knitted sling. I purchased the pattern on Etsy and my mom knitted it for me. It was a fun prop, and Isabella looked quite cozy in it.
