Cinco de Mayo Wedding – Sneak Peak

Matt & I had the pleasure of meeting Jennifer and Javier back in 2010 when they asked us to photograph their wedding. Since then, we had time to get to know them and had tons of fun photographing their engagement session last summer. They are such a sincere couple who we’ve found share Matt & I’s love for animals. Please note the baby duck picture just for you Jenny. Hmmm, eight baby ducklings? Is this a sign of things to come? :) Matt & I loved sharing in your special day with you. Pasadena Engagement Photos

Living in the Valley I sometimes feel like Pasadena is so far away. It’s really not, but I’m just never over that way to where I would be “just passing through” Pasadena. Anyhow, I have to tell you, it is just what I was looking for here in L.A. Brick buildings, metal fire escapes, back alleys; I felt like

I was back on the east coast. So many buildings in L.A. are stucco and it really isn’t that pretty in photographs. Brick is hard to find, but thanks to Ben and Krystle, I found so much in Pasadena.

Considering the location, I really loved the kind of retro vibe they brought to the photo shoot. Krystle had so many fun expressions and they both have such sparkley eyes! I had a lot of fun shooting them. Matt, as always, was amazing with the off camera flash and soft box we used for the shots on the bridge. He also is so good at picking out nice spots to shoot. It was a great team effort. Congratulations on your engagement Ben & Krystle.

Calamigos Ranch April Fools Day Wedding

Rustic, secluded, and dreamy! Calamigos Ranch is tucked away in the mountains of Malibu and is quite the spot for a wedding! I had the opportunity to first meet Ali a few years ago when photographing a wedding she was attending. When she contacted me last summer to photograph her wedding, I couldn’t have been more thrilled. Ali, her wonderful mom Candy, and her fiancée Kevin are just so genuinely nice! Not to mention, Ali & Kevin are so easy to photograph. It was a beautiful day filled with a lot of love and even a few April Fools day jokes! Congratulations to Ali and Kevin! Thank you for inviting Matt and I to be a part of your very special day.

Altadena Town & Country Club Wedding

I love the rain – it rained on my wedding day, so I think I have even more of a fondness for weddings in the rain. I was so excited to take these wedding pictures for Bismarck & Margarita. They are both so photogenic and can REALLY pull off that serious look. This location was stunning and all the natural light pouring in those big picture windows was dreamy. We were able to take a few photos outside on the covered patios, but mostly utilized their lovely indoor spaces.

Family Photos at the Griffith Observatory

Visiting the Griffith Observatory is always a treat. For me, it was one of the first places I visited when I first came to L.A. It made for a fun spot to take a few family pictures and incorporate one of L.A.’s most recognized landmarks.

When I’m photographing children under the age of one, it doesn’t get much cuter than a naked little one with that preciously perfect complexion. To have that baby skin again – if only! Well, just when I thought it didn’t get much cuter, for this really great photo session in Glendale, a cute winter hat with ear flaps was added to the mix! It was such an enjoyable session and I was very happy to meet these new clients!

Family Portraits in Ohio – Part II

Matt & I were so thrilled to be able to go back to Ohio in October. It is my favorite time of year there, and the photo opportunities are amazing. Fortunately, we had this spectacular opportunity to photograph Matt’s colleague and his beautiful wife and son. The colors were amazing and they were just perfect! You’d never know if was probably only in the high 40′s. Brrrr! (Don’t tell my mom I think that is cold now).

Andre is growing up! {San Fernando Valley Children’s Portraits}

Matt and I have been taking pictures of this little guy since he was 2 months old! Now….he is 2 years old! Wow! He is pure energy and pure boy, so we definitely burned some calories during this shoot. We went where Andre wanted to go, which was everywhere. This little man has some of the best dance moves I have ever seen come out of a 2 year old. He’s also fearless! For this shoot, we started at the San Fernando Mission and finished up at the amazing Forneris Farms. Happy birthday Andre!!!

Family Portraits in Ohio – Part I

My husband and I got to travel back to Ohio where I am from and where we both went to college. It has become a tradition that when we are back there we take family portraits for our college roommate. This past spring, their second son was born, so it was a lot of fun to take some updated portraits. They have a chiropractic business in New Albany, Ohio, which we also always visit when we are in town. The Ohio fall weather was spectacular and we just loved the change of scenery for photo opps! The first photo is their photo from 2 years ago.

Jelly Belly & Generation Photos

I have been lucky enough to photograph this smiling beauty twice already! She never fusses and somehow always has a sparkle in her eye! I thought the backyard and flowers in the background complimented her amazingly adorable feminine face. Afterwards we took some family photos encompassing 4 generations. The history nut in me knows it’s always a special occassion when you can get families together for portraits. Needless to say, it was a nice shoot.
